Creative Director

This is not an ideas role. We write the ideas and scripts and film them. You run everything after that: the editor team, the narrative and sequence of every edit, publishing and the content calendar, and the communication with brands and partners. You do not pass raw footage to an editor and wait to see what comes back. You build the plan, brief it in writing, sign it off and get it out.

What you own

  • The editor team: lanes, deadlines, priorities, per-lane style sheets, and recruiting new editors
  • Edit direction: the narrative, the clip sequence and what is on screen, briefed in writing to every editor before work starts
  • Quality control and sign-off. Nothing publishes until you have checked it against its brief
  • Distribution: publishing to every platform, captions, timing and platform-native formatting
  • The content calendar and tracking system, with at least seven days scheduled ahead
  • Content inventory: clips cut from long-form, re-cuts of proven pieces when filming is light
  • Thumbnail direction, executed by designers. Titles stay with us
  • Brand and partner communication from first contact. Rates and terms stay with us
  • Weekly reporting on what shipped and how it performed

The output

What stays with us

  • Ideas and scripts
  • Titles and formats
  • Strategy
  • Rates and deal terms
  • The final call on what publishes

The standard

  • Every edit reaches its editor with a written brief covering narrative, sequence and on-screen elements
  • First cuts reviewed within 24 hours, or 6 hours when flagged urgent
  • No unflagged empty posting slot, and seven days of content always scheduled ahead
  • Footage broken into deliverables and deadlined the same day it is filmed
  • Every commitment has a date. A slipped date is moved once, out loud, immediately

Who this is for

  • You have run a team of editors and shipped on a fixed schedule
  • You understand narrative design, sequencing and storytelling. Not pure visual larp
  • You are organised to the point of being boring about it: calendars, trackers, dates
  • You write clearly. Your briefs are the product
